DMXpressions™ is optimized for current Chrome and Edge on a Windows 11 desktop. Core console pages also run in other modern browsers where the required APIs are available. StageCraft3D requires WebGPU and hardware acceleration. M1-or-newer iPads and modern 8 GB Android tablets are the recommended professional mobile targets; phones are best used for DMXpressions™ Mobile / Remote control, playback, cue triggering, monitoring, RDM and diagnostics rather than full high-end previsualization.

What computer specifications does DMXpressions™ require?

For basic Console / DMX operation, use Windows 11 64-bit, a modern 4-core CPU, 8 GB RAM, an SSD, DirectX 12 graphics and a 1280×720 display. The recommended professional target is a modern 6–8-core CPU, 16 GB RAM, a dedicated GPU with 4–8 GB VRAM, a 512 GB NVMe SSD and a 1080p-or-higher display. Advanced StageCraft3D, AtmoSPHERE, complex pixel rigs and large previsualization shows should use 8+ cores, 32 GB RAM and 8 GB+ VRAM. Requirements are workload-based, not feature locks.

Yes. DMXpressions™ sends and receives DMX-512 over Art-Net and sACN (E1.31) through its local bridge, so it can work with standards-compatible nodes, dimmers and moving lights. Wired Gigabit Ethernet on a dedicated show LAN or VLAN is the recommended primary output connection. Wi-Fi is useful for remote and mobile control, but is not the preferred show-critical output path.

Can I use it at a venue with unreliable internet?

Yes — this is exactly what DMXpressions™ is built for. Once the page has loaded, install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) and the entire console, 3D visualizer and your show data are cached on your device. After that it launches and runs with no internet at all. Cloud sync, purchases and AI features need a connection, but live DMX output, cue playback, programming and the visualizer do not — so if the Wi-Fi drops in a fly loft or an old theatre mid-show, nothing crashes and the show keeps running.

Is DMXpressions™ a Progressive Web App (PWA)?

Yes. DMXpressions™ is an installable, offline-capable PWA. Install it before load-in and verify the show plus required fixture assets are available offline. The core console needs no app-store download or hardware dongle; the local bridge is still required for Art-Net/sACN network output, and cloud sync, purchases and AI features require connectivity.
